21 weeks

Well, we have reached the halfway point! It seems like the first half has flown by, but now I know the longest part is to come!! :) I go to see my doctor this coming Friday afternoon, but am happy to report that this little guy has been moving like crazy!

Last Monday I went to the endocrinologist and my thyroid hormone levels were still a little off, so we had to up my medication again. The endocrinologist thinks this will probably be the last time we have to change the medication, but she doesn't know for sure. I have to have a blood test in 5 weeks, then another in 3 months, and another about two months after the baby is born, she also wants to see me again about 2 months after the baby is born. I am happy to report that my hormone levels must be improving because I am not nearly as tired as I was a week ago!

In other news, this past weekend the kids made the big move to their new bedrooms. Basically we just had them switch rooms. We will be having the boys share Sydney's old room and Sydney has moved into Christopher's old room. Sydney got a new bed, and bedding so she is pretty excited about that. Our friend Brittany is going to spend the weekend here painting both bedrooms to match with the new decor, we will post photos so you can all check it out. Sydney is really excited because she gets to help with her room!! I think the move was more traumatic for mommy and daddy than the kids, although Sydney does get confused once in awhile when she goes to put something away in her room and realizes that she switched rooms!!

Hope you are all having a great week!

It's A Boy!/19 weeks

Yesterday we went in for our level 2 ultrasound and were VERY excited to learn that we will be adding a new little boy to our family!! :) You should have seen Brad leap up and look at the TV screen. He was very thankful that he ended up making his deer stand as big as he did as he will now have at least the two boys (if they choose) joining him at sometime!!

The ultrasound was a lot of fun! The technician said some of the pictures were tough to get because he is a little mover!! Because of this being a level 2 ultrasound they checked all parts of the anatomy pretty closely. After the ultrasound was done a perinatologist was brought in and went through the pictures with us (there were 71 total taken). Everything was normal. We have a healthy baby and there is nothing more that we can ask for!!

We have now started making plans for what to do sleeping wise for the kids. It looks like we will probably have Sydney move into what is now Christopher's room and put the baby and Christopher in what is now Sydney's room. Our wonderful friend Brittany is going to help us decorate both bedrooms, so we are excited about that. She has some AWESOME ideas!!

Other than that, everyone is doing well. We are all healthy, we are just trying to stay warm!! It was -24 degrees when I left for work this morning at 5:45 a.m. that was the actual temperature, not including the wind chill. Fortunately they say we should be at 30 by Monday!! A heat wave!! I can hardly wait!! Take care everyone, more next time!!

17 weeks

I had my monthly check-up today! Brad was able to leave work for a little while so that he could be there as well. We finally got to hear the baby's heartbeat today! Dr. Sherren found it right away, which made me very happy since last time, we had a hard time locating it. I had to bring her up to date on the thyroid issues, and she was happy to hear that I will be seeing my endocrinologist, Dr. Ngo, who is also her endocrinologist and friend on January 19. On the 12th I have to go in to the lab to have my TSH level tested again, and Dr. Ngo will review those with me when I see her!

Our ultrasound is scheduled for Wednesday January 14, this is the day when we will (hopefully) find out whether we are having a boy or a girl, we'll see if the baby cooperates. As I mentioned before, we are having a level 2 ultrasound, and will meet with a perinatologist immediately after the ultrasound is performed to tell us the findings.

Dr. Sherren says from there we will be able to plan when the next ultrasound will be. They are keeping a close eye on me because of the hypothyroidism and my high blood pressure, we want to make sure that the best is happening for the baby and I at all times. I also had my quad screen today, and we will discuss that at my next appointment which is on January 30.

So needless to say I will have a month full of being at the clinic in Bloomington, the clinic in St. Louis park, and at the Meadowbrook building in Methodist Hospital! Good thing gas prices have dropped :)

Happy New Year all!
Love,
Stacey, Brad, Sydney, Christopher, and baby Maller
