33 weeks/Christopher's 2nd Birthday

Hi all!

It has been a busy weekend thus far! We had Christopher's 2nd Birthday Party yesterday and had a great turnout. Luckily the weather was in our favor and it didn't rain like it was supposed to, so we got to enjoy sometime outside! Christopher enjoyed his party, got some really nice gifts, and had a lot of fun playing with some of his cousins and friends!

Last week's Biophysical profile and non-stress tests went well. All is well with Baby Boy Maller. He passed all of his tests, so that is good. After last Friday's non-stress test I had my bi-weekly doctor appointment, and am happy to report that my blood pressure was good and my TSH levels are great, so that department is good!

My doctor and I discussed the upcoming birth and she told me that she does not want me to go past 39 weeks of pregnancy to hopefully avoid any possible health issues that could come up. If I have not had the baby by June 5, I will be admitted to the hospital on June 5 and will be induced. My doctor is on call that night, (Friday June 5) and on Sunday June 7. As long as the induction would go well, she would be the one who would deliver our baby boy, which would be great because she has been my doctor through my last two pregnancies and I would love to have her there for my last childbirth!

That is all for now, I will post photos from Chris' birthday when I have the chance.

32 Weeks

Hi all!

I am a little late about updating (since I will be 33 weeks tomorrow) but we have had a pretty busy time of it as of late!! :)

Last Wednesday, I had an ultrasound and what is called a Biophysical profile. They checked the baby's size, muscle tone, movement, and breathing (though at this stage they are not really breathing, more like practicing to breathe, or so they told me), and the levels of the amniotic fluid. They give the baby 30 minutes to complete each thing they are looking for a certain number of times...Baby Boy Maller passed his first test in 5 minutes, with a perfect score! We return tomorrow for another Biophysical profile/ultrasound. I do have to admit that it was really neat to be able to see him and to actually be able to make out some of his features (as much as you can in black and white) See photo...

Last Friday, the kids and I went in for my non stress test, which was supposed to only take 30 minutes, but ended up taking 1 hour and 30 minutes. The kids got a little stressed at the end, which is understandable since they did not get to nap, but they behaved well for kids who were stuck in a room for 1 1/2 hours! Baby boy was very active and moved so much that we had a hard time keeping his heartbeat on the monitor! My doctor kept me extra long because she wanted to be sure that the baby was ok and she said he is. I return for that test and a doctor visit this Friday.

On Saturday, Christopher had his two year pictures taken and wasn't the most cooperative, but at least we got one for ourselves! We did some grocery shopping and in the afternoon had a visit from our good friends the Hagers (Jeff, Jeanne, Joey, and Julia). They are expecting a baby in June as well. It was good for Jeff and Brad to have some time to talk, as Jeff as been having a hard time lately. Just recently his mother was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer of the liver and the prognosis does not look good. He is very close to his mom, so is taking it hard. (Not that I can blame him, to lose a parent is hard). It is so frustrating to watch another wonderful person who would do anything for anyone have to suffer like this and then people like someone we all know (who I won't mention) complains about how terrible her life is, how badly she has been treated, how she has been abused, and how selfish she is because everything is about her, gets to live forever and ever...or so it seems. It just makes me mad. Linda (Jeff's mom) deserves to be here watching her grandchildren grow, and being able to show them her love...I'll step off of my soapbox now!

On Sunday, we took the kids to the Minnesota Childrens Museum. Boy did they love it!! :) We had a great time...Sydney didn't want to leave. I will post photos soon

Have a good rest of the week all!

31 Weeks and Various Other Stuff

Today I saw Dr. Sherren for my check-up, I am 31 weeks pregnant as of today. The baby had a good heart rate (in the 140s) and I am doing good otherwise, my blood pressure was slightly elevated today, but that may have been due to some stress/sadness I was experiencing today...more on that later! At the end of the appointment, I had to schedule the appointments for the rest of my pregnancy. Some of you may remember that I mentioned that at 32 weeks I will have to start going to the doctor's office twice a week for the rest of my pregnancy. This is true. On Wednesdays I will be going to St. Louis Park to have a Biophysical Profile/Ultrasound done weekly. On Fridays I will being going to the Bloomington clinic to have a non-stress test done (basically fetal monitoring) every other week (also on Fridays, I will see my doctor) until I hit the 37 week mark, which then I will begin weekly visits with the doctor on the same day as my non stress tests. This way they are able to keep a close eye on the baby and on my blood pressure to make sure that all is well. So far so good.

So now, on to why I was stressed. It was a tough day at work. We have some really hard babies in the baby room right now. Several of them are what we like to call "high-maintenance" meaning that they are not happy unless they have one on one attention. When your ratio is 1 to 4, it is very hard to give one child your undivided attention! Then when I got home, Brad had to tell me some very sad news for me. My mom's dog Morgan passed away in her sleep last night. She was 8 years old, and we had just found out a few weeks ago that she was suffering from congestive heart failure. We did not expect her to go this fast. It was very heartbreaking for me, and I just really want to be with my mom right now, but I can't. If you read this mom, I LOVE YOU!

On another note, we were given reason to celebrate today! The lawsuit for Brad's court case (from the car accident) has been dropped! Hallelujah!! We are so happy that we can finally close the book on that! Brad's lawyer told him he thought that I was more excited than Brad was!

Well, that is all for now. We hope everyone has a Happy Easter. Please keep us in your prayers.

Love,
Stacey, Brad, Sydney, Christopher, and Baby Maller
